Tough going for Pacific prospectors

Operating at a water depth of 1700m,Seacore drilled boreholes at over 30 locations and took core samples up to 20m into the seabed for this demanding and complex project.Aim of the project,part of a mineral exploration programme for Placer Dome Oceania,in association with Nautilus Minerals,is to assess the commercial viability and environmental impact of mining gold,copper,zinc and silver deposits from the floor of the Pacific Ocean.
