Chevron offloads Vietnam assets

State-owned PetroVietnam has acquired Chevron’s subsidiaries in Vietnam and thus gained operatorship of two Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) and a stake in a gas field development project. Under the deal, PetroVietnam will take over Chevron Vietnam Block B, which operates Blocks B and 48/95 with a 42.38% stake in the PSC. The state player will also take over Chevron Vietnam Block 52, which holds a 43.4% operating stake in Block 52/97.
