Carnarvon Petroleum has received an independent report from DeGolyer and MacNaughton that gives the potential recoverable oil within the Phoenix 3D seismic area, which includes the Phoenix South-1 discovery and the Roc prospect in Australia. The report was based on data provided by Apache and says contingent and prospective recoverable oil assessed between 48m-232m bbl (gross), with a best estimate of 104m bbl (gross). This includes Phoenix South oil recoverable of between 6m and 56m bbl, with a best estimate of 19m bbl, classed as contingent resource; and Roc prospect oil recoverable of between 12m and 133m bbl, with a best estimate of 42m bbl, classed as prospective resource. Roc-1 well is planned to start drilling in Q4 2015.
