Honda Motor Company has filed a patent application for a warp knitted upholstery fabric using polypropylene terephthalate fibre yarn and the production method.The vehicular upholstery fabric is warp knitted using a PPT mufti-filament yarn with a single fibre fineness of 6 dtex. The total yarn fineness is 180 dtex for the ground and pile yarns.The tricot fabric has been napped by raising the sinker loops of the pile yarn to form pile loops which are then sheared to form cut piles. A PPT bulky mufti-filament yarn is used for the ground yarn and a texturised PPT non bulky yarn or a PPT bulky texturised mufti-filament yarn is used for the pile yarn.
