April was colder in Europe, but milder in Canada and Japan than a year ago, according to data obtained from CustomWeather and gathered by Platts. A total of 19 cities geographically representative of Europe had 0.4% more heating degree days in April than in April 2022. The total for the September-April period was 2.9% fewer degree days than the similar period last year and 5.6% fewer than normal. Eight cities geographically representative of Canada had 6.7% fewer degree days in April than in April 2022. The total for the September-April period was 2.1% fewer than the similar period last year and 5% fewer than normal.
