Rosneft has completed the world’s longest well at the Chayvo field offshore Sakhalin Island in Russia’s Far East. The Sakhalin-1 partners, including Russia’s Rosneft, used the Orlan drilling platform to drill the O-14 production well to a word-record measure depth of 13,500m (44,294ft) with a horizontal reach of 12,033m (39,480ft).
