China's state-owned Sinopec has started operations at a pro-cessing plant that treats high-sulphur natural gas from the Yuanba field in Sichuan province,southwest China. The Yuanba field will be able to produce 3.4 Bcm(120.0 Bcf)of gas a year by end of 2015,doubling the present rate of 1.7 Bcm(60.0 Bcf)a year,Sinopec said. The start-up of the Yuanba field came just a few days after Sinopec said it would raise its winter gas supplies to domestic users by 11%to meet a surge in heating demand,Reuters reported.
