Santos to take $1.05 Bn GLNG hit

Following a review of key production assets, Santos reports that it expects to “recognise an impairment charge against the carrying value for Gladstone LNG (GLNG) of around US $1.05 Bn after tax (around $1.5 Bn before tax) in its 2016 half-year accounts. The impairment outcome is subject to finalisation of the half-year accounts, which will be released on 19 August. It will be a non-cash charge and will not affect the company’s debt facilities, Santos said.
