Mubadala Petroleum has started production at its operated Manora oil field in the northern Gulf of Thailand. Production is expected to reach a peak rate of around 15,000 b/d of oil as production wells are completed. Up to 10 produc-tion wells and five injection wells in the main reservoir sequence are planned. The Manora field is located in Block G1/48 around 80km offshore Thailand at a water depth of 44m (144ft). Bakheet Al Katheeri, Mubadala’s chief operating officer, said: “The Manora development builds on Mubadala Petroleum’s strong technical understanding of the subsurface in this basin, which is based on the experience gained over the years in the very successful operation of the Jasmine oil field in Block B5/27.
