AWE backs out of Australia Drover-1

AWE Ltd, operator of EP 455 in the Perth Basin, Western Australia, says that following consultation with partner Titan Energy, it will not proceed with Phase 2 of the Drover-1 exp- loration programme and will not hydraulically fracture stimu- late the well. Results from the Diagnostic Fracture Injection Test (DFIT), completed in April, and analysis of the core samples and wire- line data taken in 2014 have provided sufficient information for AWE’s assessment of the shale gas potential in the south- ern extent of its Perth Basin acreage and no further work is required at this location, AWE said.
