Triple’s China progress

Australia’s Triple Energy is drilling ahead with the Naioshan-1 well in the Bird Mountain area in China’s Heilongjiang province. Niaoshan-1 is the first of two wells and was spudded on 28 June. It is located 2km from the previous Xian Xian-1 well that was drilled in 2013. “The well is targeting several major coal seams for intersec- tion which will be cored for desorption analysis and tested. The well is currently drilling ahead having set surface casing and tested gas measuring equipment over the last week. As of 6 July the well has reached a depth of 67m (220ft) measured depth,” Triple said.
