This month we bring you the usual mix of forward-looking technology, from the almost insanely ambitious space hotel project on page 50 to the more immediate prospect of seaplanes replacing conventional ferries on busy England to France routes (page 64). But not all good ideas are necessarily new. On page 36, we look at two university quadcopter projects, one of which has taken its inspiration from an unlikely source - the drawings of Renaissance artist and inventor Leonardo da Vinci. We look too at the increasingly important role rotary plays in the offshore energy sector (page 24) and how this continues to drive innovation.
