ON DECEMBER 16, 2022, Gulfstream Aerospace and powerplant producer Rolls-Royce announced they had conducted the first original equipment manufacturer test flight of an ultralong range business jet powered by 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). A Gulfstream G650, powered by Rolls-Royce BR725 turbofans, was fuelled by SAF for the milestone sortie from Savannah, Georgia, which lasted approximately two-and-a-half hours.
