摘要

Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) has taken a vital role in the management of patients requiring temporary circulatory support due to the low cost and simplicity of installation. The study by Lan et al. (1) considers factors that may play a role in delineating the prognosis of patients requiring ECMO. Their study identified six factors which predict mortality independent of each other and 12 factors that show a statistical difference among the groups compared, i.e., survivors and non-survivors.
