London—Lithuania is set to follow in the footsteps of neighboring Poland and import a spot cargo of US LNG from Sabine Pass operator Cheniere Energy, the head of Lithuania’s state-controlled energy holding company Lietuvos Energija said Monday. Gas trader Lietuvos Duju Tiekimas (LDT), part of Lietuvos Energija, inked a deal for the Cheniere cargo, which once regasified will be stored at the Incukalns gas storage facility in Latvia in an attempt to profit from summerwinter price spreads.
