The present way and near future way of CAD data exchange in automotive industry

In ISO (the International Organization for Standardization), the development of international standard STEP (ISO 10303) is now going on. STEP's goal is firstly establishment of data exchange and secondly data sharing. The author explains thepresent way of CAD data exchange in the automotive industry and refers to some topics in near future.
