WBI Energy Transmission asked for federal authorization to build a 175,000 Dt/d expansion of its pipeline system to help process more natural gas from the Bakken Shale region in North Dakota. The developer told the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in a Sept. 19 filing that the estimated $32.6 million expansion of its existing Line Section 27 system would entail building two 24-inch-diameter, 500-foot-long pipelines, a new compressor station with two 4,000 horsepower units, and associated facilities in McKenzie County, North Dakota (CP22-512).
