The drive to form a Middle East Petrochemical Association accelerated last month when the chief executive of the Emirates National Oil Corp, Hussain Sultan, spoke of his disappointment at the lack of progress in forming an association, in his opening address at the Marichem Middle East 2003 conference in Dubai.
