Lg Chem has won a legal battle with the Korea Fair Trade Commission(KFTC)over a Wonl2bn(USUS11.47m)surcharge that the latter imposed in April 2001 for carrying out an intra-group share transaction in 1999.LG had sold its 20.63m shares in LG Petrochemical at Won5500/share to 23 people in the LG Group,including the vice-chairman of LG Philips,Koo Bon-joon,and the chairman of GS Holdings,Hur Chang-soo.The market price of the shares then was Won6839/share.GS Holdings is the holding company for the LG Group's retail and service businesses.
