An extra50 000 tonne/year of regular and halogenated butyl rubber is required in 2008 to meet global market demand,said Frank Brombach,Lanxess' Asia-Pacific product manager for butyl rubber.Brombach said the new capacity could come either from an expansion of Lanxess' plants or from a new plant in Asia that the company could build.
