Shin-Etsu Chemical's operation profit drops by Yen1bn (US9.18m) for evey Yen1 increase in the exchange rate beyond Yen115 to the US dollar,a company source told ACN.The yen,which had been as low as Yen116.7 to the US dollar at the end of August this year,rose to Yen108.9 early last week before slipping slightly to Yen109.6 as ACN went to press.
