Meti mulls safety standards

Japan's Ministry of Economy,Trade and Industry(Meti)is reviewing its system fo plant inspections under the country's High-Pressure Gas Safety Law and may set standards for self-inspections,a Meti source told ACN.Petrochemical plants and refineries in Japan that meet those standards may be given the equivalent of the ISO 9000 awards from next year.
