SummaryA study was made of the capacity of stored blood or of plasma rich in platelets to normalize the prothrombin consumption of platelet‐deficient plasma (obtained artificially or from cases of thrombocytopenic purpura) or of haemophilic plasma.It was found that this capacity arises during storage, that it increases and is then maintained at a maximal level during the first three weeks of storage. This quality is a complete thromboplastic activity and not merely a partial thromboplastic of the lipoid type derived from disintegrated platelets. The practical implications of these findings are discussed.RésuméNous avons étudié la capacité qu'acquiert le sang conservé ou Ie plasma liquide riche en plaquettes, de corriger la consommation de prothrombine d'un plasma pauvre en plaquettes (plasma déplaquet tisé in vitro ou plasma de purpura thrombopénique) ou bien encore celle d'un plasma d'hémophile.Nous avons vu qu'au cours de leur conservation les différents produits sanguins acquiérent une activité thromboplastique qui se développe et se maintient pendant les trois premiéres semaines de la conservation. II ne s'agit pas seulement d'une activité plaquettaire de type lipidique mais d'une activité thromboplastique globale.Les conséquences pratiques d'une telle activité thromboplastique sont discutées.ZusammenfassungMit Hilfe des Prothrombinverbrauchstestes wurde die Thrombo‐plastinaktivität von konserviertem Vollblut und von plättchen‐reichem flüssigem Plasma untersucht. Als Testsubstrate wurde plättchenarmes Normalplasma sowie Plasma von Thrombopenie‐Patienten und von Hämophilen verwendet. Es konnte gezeigt werden, daß im konservierten Vollblut wie auch im Plasma nach kurzer Zeit eine aktive Kinase entsteht, die während drei Wochen ihre volle Aktivität beibeädt. Es handelt sich dabei um eine Gesamtkinase und nicht nur um eine a us zerfallenen Plättchen stammende lipoidale Teilkinase. Die praktische Bed
