Thai PE,PP imports surge

Thailand's polyethylene(PE)imports rose by 36.14% last year to USUS270.39m,compared with USS198.61m in 2003,while its polypropylene(PP)imports increased by 23.79% to USUS203.86m,as against USUS164.68m the year before.A source from the Plastic Industry Club of the Federation of Thai Industries said the increase in PE and PP imports was fuelled by strong demand from the engineering plastics and electrics and electrical appliances segments.
