From a market perspective, TAPI holds huge promise. It will link Turkmenistan, one of the world's largest gas producers, with South Asia, one of the world's fastest-growing gas consuming regions. The 1,680km pipeline will transport over 30bcm of gas from the giant Galkynysh (formerly South Yolotan-Osman) gas feld in Turkmenistan.
