Saudi Arabia's Eastern Petrochemical Co (Sharq) has awarded a turnkey contract to Samsung Engineering for its 700 000 tonne/year monoethylene glycol (MEG) project in Al-Jubail,a source close to the project said.The 31-month contract period would be effective from 1 August and the plant would reach mechanical completion by February 2008,the source said.He added that two lines would be built at the plant,which would be based on Scientific Design's technology.
