Sumitomo Chemical has revised the startup date for its proposed Singapore cracker project to 2006 or later, instead of 2004-05. A Sumitomo spokesman admitted the company was first looking at 2005 but has now decided to commission the project in 2006 or later, because of the global economic downturn and poor market outlook.
