Quality is the most important element for manufacturers of high level ceramic items. Quality certainly appears as a mix of aesthetic and technological properties, able to impart to the finished items a particular appeal seized by the final client. The technological and innovative content of these items represents, in a steadily increasing degree, the main aspect able to qualify a product as qualitatively superior to other products. In the field of ceramic materials for bathrooms and related applications (tiles and/or sanitary fittings) the general trend is to achieve, as a must, easy cleaning properties together with the maximum sanitization efficiency, both to meet environmental protection, by using environmentally friendly materials, minimizing or setting to zero consumption of chemical cleaning agents, and to maintain fully sanitized surfaces without employing artificial antibacterial agents.
