SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The convenience-fuel industry continues to battlesupply chain snags and price inflation because of post-pandemic increasesin demand and shortages tied to Russia’s war against Ukraine, according tomarketers and vendors attending this week’s Southwest Fuel & ConvenienceExpo here.All marketers interviewed said supply was tight, and some said theyhad to get “creative” to avoid outages. At least one large, multibrandedmarketer with stations across the U.S. reported fuel outages in severalmarkets, especially in Denver. The fuel distributor said its Denver retailsites were posting prices 30cts/gal higher than street average “just to keepstations wet.”
