Integrating Environmental Protection into Plant Operations

Canadian utility Hydro-Quebec uses an environmental management system (EMS) to measure, control, and continuously improve environmental performance at its 53 hydropower plants. The EMS features a set of processes for minimizing harmful effects on the environment caused by hydro plant operations and for periodically setting new targets for continuous improvement.
