BMI View: India's claim to have deregulated gasoline prices lie in ruins, following a three-month unoffcial price freeze ahead of elections. With gasoline no longer subsidised but still clearly subject to immense government infuence, the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is now broadening its horizons, almost certainly in order to reduce exposure to Indian fuels retail.
