Functioning stability of a pendulum-type ruling engine against the action of external factors

This paper discusses the composition and operation of a pendulum-type ruling engine and analyzes how external factors affect the stability of its functioning. A description is given of a device for monitoring the dynamics of the cutter carriage of an actual prototype of the ruling engine, based on a Fizeau interferometer. The results of these studies are discussed.
