Freight rates for chemical cargoes have not risen as much as expected due to uncertainties over the looming US-led war against Iraq. However, once the war tensions ease, freights rates are expected to tise significantly, reflecting the rise in bunker rates, the shortage of vessels and strong petrochemical prices.
