The year 2014, the third year for China's building ceramic and sanitarywares industry moving from a period of fast development into a moderate period , was witnessed as a transition year of Chinese economy, during which and affected by the general situation of slow and hard recovery of the world economy as well as a growing pressure due to the slow-down domestic economy, the Chinese building ceramics and sanitarywares industry encountered a severe challenge of "overlapped adverse effects" , namely a period dealing with an excessive production capacity, a hard period of enterprise transition and upgrading, and a decreasing demand in real estate market. While the growth rate of investment for real estate development in 2014 came down by 9.3% and the sale of commercial housing decreased by 7.6% compared with the year before, with the real estate development moving back towards a rational demand. The building ceramics and sanitarywares industry has experienced a roller coaster market from an unexpected rush in 2013 to a cooling-down in the second half of 2014.
