摘要

Infrared spectra of acenaphthene crystals measured with polarized radiation in the region 400–3000 cm—1are reported. The unit cell contains four molecules. Splitting of bands in the crystal spectrum has been observed. However, because of the specific positions of molecules in the crystal lattice, a unique determination of the vibration symmetry is possible. An assignment of recorded frequencies is proposed.
