Transport costs soar in China

Road-transportation charges for petro- chemicals in China have doubled after the 20 June clampdown on the overloading ofI trucks,according to industry sources.This has resulted in a squeeze on the margins of petrochemical producers and traders,especially those dealing in polymers,which are generally transported by land.
