After witnessing a yearlong slump, sales of ceramic tiles have picked-up over the last few months on the back of new housing projects, but poor security situation and prolonged power cuts hit direct sales to households, said a top executive of a tile manufacturing company. "The government's action against the import of cheap Chinese tiles also helped the local industry to regain some of the market share," Alireza M. Alladin, Managing Director, Shabbir Tiles and Ceramics Company Ltd, said in an interview.
