The 1st Wing Historical Centre at Beauvechain air base, Belgium, recently took delivery of former Swiss Air Force Hunter F58 J-4077. Following retirement in 1994, the machine was donated to the Brussels Air Museum, and during October 1995 flew from Emmen to the NATO reserve base at Weelde, north-east of Antwerp, which was at the time used as a storage facility for the museum. The whereabouts of the Hunter remained unknown until September 2008 when it was first noted at Beauvechain during an open day, but after this it disappeared again into one of the hardened shelters. During early 2019 it was decided that these shelters had to be emptied as they were needed to store the Alpha Jets that were going to be withdrawn from Belgian use later that year.
