Thailand's national oil and gas firm PTTEP saw its net profits jump 114.0% y-o-y, from USD35mn in Q215 to USD75mn in Q216, beating industry expectations by a considerable margin. The firm's improved results were down to the strong performance of its natural gas sector, and the implementation of various cost-cutting measures to help weather the current oil market downturn.
