摘要

BMI View: According to sources familiar with bid ding process, the Canadian independent InterOil is most likely to select Shell as its partner on a long-stalled LNG project in Papua New Guinea. The Gulf LNG project, which has suffered multiple delays, now seems poised to advance after almost being cancelled by frustrated regulators. A partnership with Shell and decision on the Gulf LNG project support our largely positive view on PNG's gas sector, which given continued farm-ins and new investment in exploration could be on the verge of a LNG boom as rising costs hit projects elsewhere.
