The MoPJ rose to a new record high of USus487/tonne cfr Japan late on Tuesday,USus29.25/tonne higher than a week earlier,surpassing the previous high of USus486/tonne set on 12 October 2004.The price surge was attributed to the soaring crude values on the back of a colder-than-expected weather forecast for northeast US.The backwardated price gap between 2H May and 2H June was pegged at 25 cents,weakening from a USusl/tonne backwardation a week earlier.
