Total is reportedly in talks with Indonesian national oil company (NOC) Pertamina for an asset swap. This could see Total retain its presence in the gas-rich Mahakam block, which it is due to hand over to Pertamina on January 1 2018. According to Reuters, Total Indonesia's President Hardy Pramono stated that the frm is 'open to swapping one of our overseas assets with Pertamina', with positions in Canada and Africa specifcally referred to as possible prospects.
