A recent report published by Bloomberg has highlighted the weak productionoutlookforIndonesia’sgassector,inparticularfromthe Mahakam block,where it believes output could decline over 30%by 2017.The block is a critical production centre in Indonesia and ac- countsforaround30%ofthecountry’sgasoutput.Thedeclinechimes with our with our view that the outlook for Indonesia’s gas sector is increasingly uncertain as resource nationalism and an uncertain regulatory environment hinder progress in exploration and produc- tion.
