Adenoidectomy is a surgical procedure that removes the adenoid at the nasopharynx. It is one of the most commonly performed operations in pediatric patients. Techniques and instruments for adenoidectomy have evolved over time. This article describes various surgical techniques that are currently available including the classic adenoidectomy, suction diathermy adenoidectomy, coblation adenoidectomy, and power-assisted adenoidectomy. These techniques can also be schematically divided into endoscopic-assisted and nonendoscopic assisted approach.
