Naming ceremony held for submarine New Jersey

The US Navy named another Virginia class fast-attack submarine, the future USS New Jersey (SSN 796), on 13 November 2021 at Huntington Ingalls Industry, in Newport News, Virginia. The future USS New Jersey (SSN 796) is the third US Navy submarine vessel named in recognition of the state and is the 5th Block Ⅳ Virginia-class submarine to be built. Virginia class submarines are built to operate worldwide and in deep water while conducting anti-submarine warfare; anti-surface ship warfare; strike warfare; special operations forces support; intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance; irregular warfare; and mine warfare missions.
