A new genus and new species of Neotropical Thoracophorini (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Osoriinae)

Three new species of the new genus Geotrochopsis are described: G. pubescens, G. collaris, and G. flaveolus. The genus is placed in the subtribe Clavilispinina of the tribe Thoracophorini. G. pubescens seems to be distributed all over the Neotropicalregion. Both G. collaris and G. flaveolus are from Peru and Brazil, respectively. Additionally, one new species is described from the Central Amazon: Geomitopsis amazonensis. Furthermore, Ashnaosorius Makhan, 2008 is recognised as a new synonym of Geomitopsis.
