TECHNIPFMC and a subsidiary of Malaysian national oil company Petronas have agreed to commercialise a natural gas technology that reduces greenhouse gas emissions. The natural gas processing membrane technology, which removes carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide with wetted membranes, is 30% more efficient than existing gas treatment processes and reduces greenhouse emissions, the two companies said. The technology can be used in both onshore and offshore applications. "Our ability to industrialise processes is at the core of this partnership, which is another important step in TechnipFMC's efforts to help our clients reduce their upstream carbon footprint," said Luana Duffe, executive vice president of new energy ventures at TechnipFMC.
