No pipes? No worry. Cheap gas fosters routine use of super-sized CNG trailers

HALIFAX— Heritage Gas of Nova Scotia is set to begin delivering natural gas to one of its customers this month via three super-sized tube trailers that can haul nearly 300,000 standard cubic feet of CNG each. Said to be the worlds largest, the trailers will be in use around the clock supplying gas to Nova Scotia-based masonry maker Shaw Brick, which recendy converted its equipment from oil to natural gas, Heritage Gas President Jim Bracken told American Gas. The gas will be loaded onto the trailers at Heritage's compressor station near Halifax Stanfield International Airport, then driven about 12 miles to the decompression station the utility has built at Shaw Brick's plant.
