Stuart Render wonders if, other than preserved buses and trams, this is the last piece of Leeds City Transport (LCT) heritage in existence, hanging if not by a thread then by the odd rusty screw. It's 49 years since the four West Yorkshire municipal undertakings were absorbed into the passenger transport executive that liked to call itself Metro and it will be 50 years ago in August that a young Stuart began work with LCT as a mileage clerk at its head office in Swinegate.
