Green Button Initiative Gives Electric- Consumers Easy Access to Data

ENABLING CONSUMERS to have easy access to data about their electricity use is the goal of the Green Button initiative, which recently added nine utilities to a growing list of participants. Green Button was launched as the result of a White House initiative but is an industry-run effort. The initiative's website describes it as "the common-sense idea that electricity customers should be able to securely download their own easy-to-understand household energy usage information from their utility or electricity supplier website."
